An ordinary life vs. an extraordinary life

Comfort zones are called that for a reason. They are hard to get out of because, yanno, it's comfortable there. But...and there's always a but, that isn't the life you are destined to live. I know what you are thinking. You don't know me. You don't know what my destiny. What I do know is that all of us, all of us, have bigger dreams and goals that we think about but don't go after because it's uncomfortable. We made excuses to get out of going for it. We think that our life is pretty good and that is good enough. And it very well could be. Or it could be amazing! I think if you ask anyone if they would prefer good or great, most people (all people) would choose great. So, why are you selling yourself and your one shot at an extraordinary life short?

When I was let go from my last job I had a decision to make. I could go find a low paying 9-5 job somewhere that I knew wouldn't make me happy. I could try to find another job in my chosen field but likely have to move to a different area in the country. Or I could stay where I am, the place that I love, and try something different. I could try to forge my own path. I could build something that may be able to help people while fulfilling my own dreams and desires to do something bigger and better with my life. That is the path I chose. It hasn't been easy. It's not going the way I planned. There is a lot for me to learn. But I'm keeping at it. I'm dedicated to making this work for a number of reasons. The first is that I truly want to help others. I know what it's like to wake up every day with dread and just go through the motions. I want to help people live happier and more satisfied with their life. I feel this is my purpose and I won't be fulfilled it until it what I do and am known for. I want an unlimited amount of income as opposed to taking a job and getting a 3% increase every year or so. I want to be the director of my destiny. In essence, I want to be my own boss.

It's taking awhile, but I'm finding a way to make it work financially while I'm not making any money. It's amazing when you open yourself up to endless possibilities the things that can happen. I've been able to creatively come up with ways to keep our monthly bills satisfied while not bringing in any income from a job for almost two years now. We aren't rich by any means but we are getting all our bills paid which is the goal right now.

So what is it you truly want to do? We usually have some sort of inkling of what that is. And when we say we have no idea it's usually because we don't think of it as a purpose. But your purpose can be anything you want it to be. Anything that makes you happy and feel fulfilled. And there is usually a way to make money at it as well. There are a million ideas out there and sometimes all you need to do is brainstorm a little bit.

What sets your soul on fire? What are you really passionate about? What do you love to do more than anything? How would you spend your days if you had all the money you needed to live at your current lifestyle? Is there a way you can make money doing those things? These are the questions you need to ask yourself in order to live an extraordinary life. Stop thinking small because this is your one life and you want to make the most of every moment. Am I right????

Give it some thought today. What is it you really want out of life? And what can you do today to start working toward that vision?

It's hump day! Have a great one and be your badass self. I'll be right here, cheering you on.
